Falkirk Growth Deal- Innovation Project Carbon Dioxide Utilisation Workshop.

March 17, 2023

Dr David Brown has been invited and will be attending the Falkirk Growth Deal- Innovation Project Carbon Dioxide Utilisation Workshop.

The Council and Scottish Enterprise has asked key individuals in the research sector to be involved.

Dr David Brown will be there to discuss the CDU project and convey his opinions for the best way to deliver the project in the next 18-30 months.

The project is one of the eleven that are part of the £80 million Falkirk Growth Deal signed in 2021, and its progress also has ability to benefit from and support the objectives of the recently announced Forth Green Freeport.

Forth Green Freeport is Scotland’s focus to produce a move to net zero, to entice important inward investment, to develop international trade and export capability, and to generate new and well-paid jobs.

New technology supported skills advancement will focus on areas of severe deprivation within our communities.

Led by Forth Ports, the bid consortium contains both private and public organisations who together can deliver Forth Green Freeport’s concept.

The area around Forth Green Freeport generates 40% of Scotland’s industrial emissions today. Their goal is to achieve the 2045 net zero target, without damaging the economy of Scotland.

Investments will inspire growth in trade, providing extended logistics and trade ability for existing and developing industries including advanced modular systems, biofuels, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage, as well as support additional R&D capability and green incubator space to drive SME and start-up business growth.
